Mitchell Ward Honored with the Texas State Distinguished Alumni Award
Mitchell Ward, Chairman and CEO of MW Logistics, was recognized as one of the best of the best that have graduated from Texas State University. Mr. Ward was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award of 2022. Texas State University recognized the 2022 award honorees during their annual Alumni Awards gala. The Distinguished Alumni Award is the most prestigious honor bestowed by Texas State University and the Texas State Alumni Association. It recognized graduates that have made a significant impact on the lives of others through their professions, accomplishments, affiliations, and service to society and the university. Receiving this exclusive award places Mitchell Ward among honorees such as the thirty-sixth President of the United States of American, Lyndon B. Johnson. This award has only been given to 230 of 250,000 students that have graduated since the inception of the award.
An avid supporter of Texas State, Mitchell has previously served on the Texas State Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Texas State University Development Foundation Board, and was the Dallas Chair of the Booster Club Leadership Council. He also received the Alumni Achievement Award in 2008 and is “T” Association letter recipient. Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and graduated in 1989.
“It is a great honor to receive this award. The fact that my work and impact in the community is being recognized is very meaningful to me. I have been doing things for the community since I was a child. My family – my parents and grandmother – got me involved at an early age in activities serving those who had a challenge making ends meet. They taught me that I can affect change by getting involved helping others. Texas State is a university that develops a lot of entrepreneurs and people who give back. I observed that as a student and that reinforced my desire to continue giving back. Today, my wife Pam and I are continuing that tradition with our children and we also have incorporated our culture of giving into the business”, said Mitchell Ward, Chairman and CEO at MW Logistics.
